English Language Challenges.

Hello everyone!

Today for our last blog we have to talk about our experience learning English at university and the use of blogs.

 Well to be honest I enjoy English this semester but I think the subject was a little bit easy, except for the videos we have to make. In my opinion we has to have more instances to practice our speaking skills because is the area where I have more deficiency and I think is the area with more deficiency in Chile in general.

Another thing that I Think I have to practice a lot is the listening because I can understand when the people speak slow or in a middle speed, but when they start to speak fluid sometimes I miss some words that can be very important in the conversation.  

Now talking about the blogs I think they were bored and unnecessary. In my opinion blogs didn’t help you to improve your English skills and they are a waste of time.

Actually I don’t use English frequently; I use it only to read little text for the university those are not in Spanish but I think that English will be very useful in the future when I start to work and I start to listening  a lot of music in English  to improve my listening skills.

I think I will miss this class when it finish because the atmosphere created was so cool and the activities in general were very funny except for the blogs.

Changes in my career.

Hello everyone! Today we have to talk about changes that could be made in our career so let’s start.

 To be honest the only change that could be in the future that I have listened is about the new building where we’ll supposed to go. The place where we will go in May of next year is the Huérfanos Campus of the ARCIS University, but I don’t know more about that.

 Before the ARCIS University Campus we were supposed to go to a building in Chacabuco (near to the station Quinta Normal) but finally the building was bought by University of Santiago (USACH) and that produce moments of uncertainty about if we will go to another building or if we will stay in the same place. This stayed like this until we were told about the ARCIS campus.

 The reason why we want to left this place and go to another building is basically for the infrastructure. This place is small, we don’t have backyard to rest and socialize and had pillars in the middle of the classrooms wich are harmful for classmates that arrive later and had to sit behind that.

 I think I like the idea about the change of building but if it doesn’t take place it doesn’t make me feel bad because I’m used to this place.

Postgraduate Studies

Hello everyone, Today I have to talk about the postgraduate studies.

To be honest, the only thing that I have clear in this moment  is that I'm going to be a public adminstrator, I have no idea what i will do when i finish to study public administration. I have not thought if I will do a postgraduate studie, and in case I decide to  study something I actually don't know what it will be.

I've always liked biology so I guess if I study something in the future I'll try to find something that mixes public administartion and biology (the only thing I've read that can mix both is a post title called socio-environmental conflict management , But to be honest it doesn't have my attention).

I'm not closed to the idea of ​​just being a public administrator,It doesn't mean that i don't like or I hate my carrer, because I like it so much, but maybe in the future I like something else that makes me happier than actually I'm.

Well thats all for today, sorry if this post is short but actually I don't have so much clarity about what I'll do in the future. Hope you like it!

Summer Vacation (Holidays)

Hello everyone, today we have to talk about our plans for summer vacations.

 In this summer holidays I’ll go to Concepción, San Rosendo and then with my friends we want to go to camp somewhere.

In January my cousin will get married and the party will be in Concepción where he lives. I’m very anxious for this trip for two reasons. The first reason is because my cousin who will get married is like a big brother to me so I feel very happy for him and the second reason is because I have never traveled by plane and my parents bought tickets to go in plane.

After the marriage we’ll go to San Rosendo to visit my grandfather. I like a lot San Rosendo because all my summer holidays (since I have memory) I passed them there. San Rosendo is the place where all my family go all the years in vacations so I have a lot of good memories with I and all my family going to the beach  like a herd and playing at the beach. It’s really fun.

I and my friends want to camp at the last days of February but we didn’t have think about where we will go. I hope we reach an agreement soon of where we’ll go and the trip could be realized.

Breaking Bad.

Hi everyone, today we have to talk about our favorite tv serie.

Well I don’t have a “favorite” tv serie because I have seen a lot of them since my childhood until today and I don´t remember all of them to say “that’s my favorite one”. In my childhood I saw a lot of anime, in a program called “el club de los tigritos” in chilevision, like dragon ball z, shaman king, digimon, pókemon, full metal alchemist and a lot more but the most recent tv serie that I see was Breaking Bad so I will talk about this serie because I remember more of this than the others.

Breaking Bad is an American serie released in 2008 under the direction of Vince Gilligan. The serie has 5 seasons and 62 chapters. The serie obtained the title of “best serie” 3 years consecutive by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and has won sixteen times the Primetime Emmy.

The plot of the serie is about Walter White, a chemist teacher, who has a relative normal life until he is diagnosed with lung cancer. When he know about him problem he start to think about the economic problems that will have to carry his family with the treatment of the cancer and when he die. Days later he discovers that an old student of him (Jesse Pinkman) is involved in drugs traffic. Walter scared for the future of his family decides to make methamphetamine to obtain easy money so he convinces Jesse to help him.

 The serie sample the change of personality of Walter when he start with this job and that do Breaking Bad an excellent serie without the stereotype of the main character is always the good boy.

My future Job.

 Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about my future job.

Well to be honest I didn’t think about what kind of job or where I would work in the future but I like things related to medicine so probably I would chose a job where I can mix the public administration with medicine like a job in the ministry of health or something like this. 

 I imagine it like a dynamic job where I can help people creating public policies knowing the problems that they have or help in the administration of any public clinic or health center. 

In relation about if I would like to work outdoor or indoor I think I prefer a mix of both and about if I would like to travel a lot in my job the answer is yes, because traveling I probably can know different realities that can help me to take better decisions at the moment when I work in new policies if my job is do it.

 I feel the salary isn’t the important thing when you talk about what do you want to be, but to be honest I would like to have a good salary. In the future I wish to make a magister related with public policies.

My favorite singer.

Hi everyone! Today we have to talk about something related to music so I decide to talk about my favorite singer: Eddie Vedder,

Well this American artist who born in 1964 is famous because is the singer of the grunge band Pearl Jam. With Pearl Jam he has 10 albums and my favorites are “Ten” and “Vitalogy”. He wrote and sings like soloist all the soundtracks for the movie Into the Wild, and has another album like soloist called “Ukelele Songs”.

I’m not a fan of Eddie for a long time, because I only start to listen him music last year when I hear my first Pearl Jam song, and I was impressed for his powerful voice. Then I start to search for more songs from Pearl Jam and I start to like it so much.

I enjoy see Eddie Vedder singing because he is very energic and passionate and he transmit these feelings to the crowd who listen him sing.

Songs that I like from Pearl Jam are Sirens, Animal, Even Flow, Why Go, Yellow ledbetter, Once, Last kiss and a lot of other songs. From Eddie like soloist I can name for example Rise, Long Nights and No Ceiling like songs that I like.

My favorite movie.

Hello everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about my favorite movie that is called "Into the Wild". This American movie was released in 2007 and the director was Sean Penn.

 The plot of the movie is about Cristopher McCandless a very smart man who, bored of the society and the materialism, start a trip to Alaska to "find himself" and live with the nature. As the movie progress you can see all the problems that lead Cristopher to take the decision of make the trip. The movie shows how Cristopher with him ideals caught the atenttion of a lot of people and they helps him somehow in him trip. When Cristopher finally arrives to Alaska he start a long time of reflection alone. Long time after he feels that is time to comeback to the society but he eats poisonous berries and die in the middle of Alaska.

I like this movie because has a very interesting plot, has really nice images of the nature, great characters and actors, and finally the movie has a spectacular soundtrack. The soundtrack was made by Eddie Vedder (one of my favorite singers) and has one of my favorite songs called "Rise".

The Best Vacation Ever.

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about the best vacation I had. In 2013 I went to Argentina, specifically to Mendoza,  with my mom and my sister to visit an aunt. We were there like a week. The trip was so long, about 12 hours, and that was the only thing that I hate of the travel.

 The visit was so funny and i had the chance to go out all the days to know more places from Mendoza. I met my Argentinian cousins and I learned a lot of things from they. I remember that the weather was so rare, one day in the morning start to rain and then start to hail but the weather doesn't felt cold.

 We swim in a big pool near my aunt's house, we ate a lot of ice cream (the ice cream in Argentina is less expensive compared to Chile, so they buy a lot), and in the nights we went to a store where they had arcade games, it was very cool.

A country I would like to visit.

A country i would like to visit in the future is Norway. In youtube i found a video with pictures of differents landscapes from different countries and when the video show pictures of Norway i like it so much. When I see pictures from Norway with the rivers between big mountains I feel like it's a mystical place that can be funny to explore.

I really don't know so much about Norway more than their language is Norwegian and the country is called "the best country of the world".

If I had the chance to visit Norway I really don't know what i would do. I think I will search for tourist groups to visit different places.

If I  go to Norway someday I only would go like tourist. I think if i get an offer to work, study or live there i would refuse to it because is too far from Chile where is my family and friends.
